Investor Ready Development Land
The Monarto South Industrial Precinct lends itself to a wide range of uses.
Zoned, Urban Employment, this precinct allows for the development of large floor plate enterprises such as major logistics and manufacturing plants, high technology and/or research and development facilities.
Most importantly, the area has been identified, by virtue of the Monarto South Concept Plan, as an area to establish a large scale intermodal freight facility.
And, while the Monarto South Concept Plan does not give immediate approval to an intermodal facility, it does evidence the long term vision of the Rural City of Murray Bridge to support industrial and intermodal development.
In May 2018, a small scale intermodal hub was approved adjacent to the Viterra Silo’s at Monarto South. The proposed intermodal hub will permit the transfer of cargo containers from road to rail, and vice versa.
In July 2018, the Liberal Government commissioned an investigation into the feasibility of moving heavy freight out and around the Adelaide metropolitan area.
Delivered over a 9 month study period, the findings of the Globe Link Study will be made available in early 2019.
Monarto South is located around 45 minutes east of Adelaide and is well serviced by the community of Murray Bridge.
Key development projects in the Murray Bridge region, that are well advanced or imminent, include:
- Costa Adelaide Mushroom expansion (Monarto)
- Big River Pork expansion
- Murray Bridge Racecourse redevelopment
- Thomas Foods rebuild
- Inghams Feedmill development
- The Bend Motorsport Park (Tailem Bend)
