Coorong Tours

Discover the hidden secrets of the Coorong!

Meaning, we will take you to vist a local producer, for a behind the scenes look at that industry. And, because there is so much to see, we invite you to put together a package that suits you, and your group (minimum 15 people).  Choose three options from below and we will organise the rest! Each farm gate visit will take around an hour, but allowing for  travel between sites, comfort stops, food breaks and jawbreaking views of the Coorong, we expect that your tour will take a full day.

Snail Farming

Built as a social care farm for people with dementia, Claudia and Rachid have created a snail farm to grow out product for restaurant quality dining.

Pure Angus Beef

Established in 1956, cattle are home grown, free range and pasture fed on the rich natural grasses.  Meet these cattle close up at Pondyong Cattle yards.

Seed Production

A third generation agribusiness, Swan Brothers, has expanded into irrigated seed production to deliver high value crops with modest water input.

Cattle Breeding

The Raven Limousin and Lim-Flex stud managed by Jason and Penny utilises advanced genetic selection techniques to deliver superior livestock.

Olive Oil Production

Established in 1998, this family run business produces 700 tonnes of olive oil annually for both export and domestic retail.  These former dairy farmers have a life changing story!

Intensive Dairy & Barn

In 2017, Brad and Karin revolutionised the way they produce milk when they installed a 10,100m2 barn to house their 600 head of milkers, all under one roof!

Wild Catch Fishing

Glen and Tracy run and manage a wild catch fishing and processing business in Meningie.  At their seafood cellar door you will learn just how important the Coorong eco-system is to Australia.

Raukkan, the former Point McLeay Aboriginal Mission, is also home to David Unaipon.  David designed the shearing hand piece which, together with the Raukkan Church, features  on the Australian $50 note.
