HOLIDAY RENTAL - River Retreat at Monteith

House - Monteith SA

Watch boats float by from the deck of your private, riverside getaway.  River Retreat at Monteith is a spacious, elegant home on the Murray River, with a private jetty for your boat, a reserve and boat ramp nearby.

You will love spending your days on the water with the family, and your nights hanging on the deck or cocooned in front of the wood fire.  River Retreat at Monteith has everything you need for your river getaway, just an hour from Adelaide.

The warm and welcoming ambience of River Retreat at Monteith will relax you, and the stunning river views from the picture windows will mesmerise you.  The modern kitchen is fully equipped with all your cooking needs, and the large dining table can easily accommodate your group.

The open plan living room overlooks the deck and river beyond through large picture windows.  Large, comfortable couches are positioned around the wood fire and television, making the entire open plan living/kitchen/dining and balcony a very social and comfortable space.

The large deck overlooking the garden, reserve and river is protected by the weather, and features a BBQ, gas heater and seating for 10.

Four bedrooms ensure plenty of room for the whole family, with an ensuite servicing the master, and a family bathroom and laundry.

Air conditioning and a wood burning combustion heater keep the house the perfect temperature year round.

Outside, the Murray River is on your doorstep.  Younger children will be safe within the fenced garden, where you can watch them from the deck.

River Retreat at Monteith is located on the Bells Landing Reserve, a local secret on a quiet part of the river.  If skiing is your thing, then you won’t be crowded.

River Retreat at Monteith is fully self-contained for your privacy. We encourage you to call us if you require assistance or have any questions during your stay, and above all, we will respect your privacy.

Your neighbourhood

River Retreat at Monteith is the perfect river getaway, at any time of the year.  Located on a quiet part of the river,  guests can enjoy the relaxing ambience of the country, yet the convenience of all amenities is just a few minutes’ drive away in Murray Bridge.

The reserve is spacious and never too crowded, so there s plenty of room to spread out with all your water toys.

This property enjoys easy and quick access to the South Eastern Freeway and Princes Highway.  Local attractions include  The Bend Motorsport Park (approximately 20 minutes), and the iconic Monarto Zoo (25 minutes).  Nearby wine regions include Langhorne Creek (30 minutes), the Adelaide Hills (30 minutes) and the Barossa (1 hour).

If you love to explore in your car, the stunning Coorong is less than an hour from Monteith.  Check out the beaches, lagoons, river and lakes in the truly magical Storm Boy country.

And, one of our favourite things to do if you bring your boat is to motor down the river to have lunch at one of the authentic pubs on the water front.  We suggest the Riverside at Tailem Bend, the historic Wellington Pub, or the Riverscape cafe/restaurant at Sturt Reserve, Murray Bridge.

We have plenty of suggestions for things to do during your stay, and have them listed in our guest information book.
