The Coorong is less than two hours from Adelaide, and there are lots of great eating experiences for the foodies amongst us. 

Check out our tips on the best spots to find unique local produce, artisan sugar bombs, great coffee and boutique beer, in the glorious River, Lakes and Coorong.  So get busy and start ticking off the list!

Welcome to SA’s glorious food bowl!  Stock up on fresh fruit and vegetables, locally produced smallgoods and gourmet cheeses, a stash of wine from Langhorne Creek, or some boutique beers from the new Coorong Brewing Co. to warm your cockles.

Get your wiggle on and try digging for your own cockles on the beach (in season). Steam with white wine, chilli and garlic, in less than five minutes! Better yet, cook them over a campfire on the beach with Murray River yabbies!

When in Rome…the local fish delicacy is Coorong Mullet, and you’ll find it at nearly every eatery.  With fresh lemon and pepper and hot chips, you can’t go wrong.

Take a drive to Waffles and Jaffles at Coonalpyn and treat yourself to authentic Liege waffles, smothered with a dizzying array of toppings (we can’t go past the apple sauce and icecream combo).  Sugar not your thing?  The gourmet jaffles are AMAZING.  And, while you indulge, you’ll have prime position to check out the epic silo art across the road.

Ok, this place has a cult following, so prepare to join the ranks of the well informed. Little Local Co. in Tailem Bend packs a huge punch in a small space.  Head here for great service, cool digs, creative light meals, sugar bombs and THE.BEST.COFFEE.
